Performance fabric selection should begin with how the garment will be used. High-intensity training needs moisture management and stretch, team travel wear may prioritise comfort and structure, while compression garments require recovery, support and controlled fit.
Fabric weight, fibre blend, stretch direction, opacity, surface finish and colourfastness all affect the final product. A fabric that looks strong in a swatch may behave differently after printing, stitching or repeated movement. Construction details such as seam type, reinforcement and panel placement must therefore be developed together with the fabric.
Sublimation is useful for detailed all-over team graphics on compatible polyester fabrics. Screen printing, heat transfer, embroidery and woven labels each create a different visual and tactile result. The branding method should suit both the material and the customer expectation.
Before production, test the complete sample for movement, comfort, appearance and wash behaviour. Clear care labels and consistent packing help protect the customer experience after the garment leaves the factory.
